Standard Wheelchair
Standard wheelchairs are basically chairs that have very little options and weigh the most. The weight is usually around 40lbs. The options include footrests, legrests, removable desk arms or full arms. The weight capacity on the standard chair is usually between 250lbs-300lbs.These chairs are the most commonly used.
Lightweight Wheelchairs
Lightweight wheelchairs are very similar to standard chairs in respect to the options. These chairs weigh between 32-36 lbs. They also offer more options than the standards.
Ultra light Wheelchairs
Ultralight Wheelchairs offer many options(i.e. angle adjustable backs, adjustable seat to floor height, custom seating options, height adjustable armrests etc.) Ultralight chairs are mainly used by more independent and active users. They usually weigh 25-30 lbs and can be custom made.
Custom Ultra light Wheelchairs
You can buy a wheelchair that is custom made for you. You will be measured, and a wheelchair will be built just for you. When customizing a wheelchair, you can choose everything. Even color! However, keep in mind that buying a customized wheelchair can take a bit longer, as everything is customized. Custom Ultra Light Wheelchairs are made out of aluminum and in some cases titanium to keep the weight down. The lightest wheelchairs is about 17 pounds (Quickie Ti )titanium chair and reach to about 23lbs. The frames are usually lifetime warranty.
Transport Wheelchair/Companion Wheelchair
These are the most basic of the wheelchairs. They have 4 small wheels and the patient can't propel themselves. They are mainly used for transporting the patient to an event, doctor's visit etc. They come in limited sizes and are not used on day to day basis. They are excellent for patients who can't walk a great deal. The big advantage is that they weigh about 20 lbs even though it's considered a standard chair.
Heavy Duty Wheelchairs/Bariatric Wheelchairs
Bariatric Wheelchairs are designed for people that weigh more than 300 lbs. They are made of steel and are heavier than the average wheelchair. The width of the chair starts at 22"and goes up to 36". Generally, these chairs are available in stock but some of these chairs are custom made.

Cushions
There is a wide range of options available in this category. However, choosing the right cushion is as important as the chair. There is basically 4-5 categories of cushions.
Standard Foam Cushions, Dense Foam Cushions, Gel Cushions, Air Cushions, Custom Made Cushions.
The foam cushions are the most popular and then follow the rest depending to the patient's needs and skin condition. The Gel, Air and Custom Cushions are mainly used for patients with a history of skin ulcers or existing wounds to promote healing.
